Helping shelter rock Church food pantry 2/5 and 2/6, 2022

Who They Are

During the height of the pandemic the SRC Food Pantry served over 550 Families each week.

There is NO cost for the food.  Those in need drive to the food pantry and wait in their car.  Groceries are placed in the trunk so no-one needs to leave their car.

What We are Doing

On Friday, February 5 at 3:30pm, we will be unloading goods from the church's weekly delivery. This will take about an hour.

On Saturday, February 6th at 8:45am, we will help with distribution by setting up the goods outside and packing them directly into the trunk of each car. Clean up will take place afterwards and the day will be about three hours. This opportunity can only take a limited amount of volunteers so there is a chance that we may not need all the volunteers that sign up. We will accept volunteers in the order they are received. Email us at info@the364.org if you would like to sign up to help for one or both days. THANK YOU!

DECEMBER 2021

Who They Are

Kids Need More makes the season brighter for over 400 local children coping with serious illness and trauma on Long Island. All parents feel the pressure to make the season magical for their children, but when families are stressed with medical visits, painful treatments and financial burdens, taking part in holiday festivities can be overwhelming,.

What We are Doing

The 364 has partnered with KNM and is currently recruiting volunteers to be elves! We need helpers to sort and bag gifts on weekends in December and also to distribute on a day the weekend before Christmas. Please email us if you are interested in volunteering or making a financial donation.

Who They Are

Believe it or not, there are families in our community that need winter

coats this season. They could also use scarves, gloves, boots, etc.

We take for granted what we have sometimes, so please, if you can, clean

out those closets and see if there's anything you have that another person

might need.

What We are Doing

In conjuction with St. Edward's Parish Social Ministry, we will be collecting new and gently used winter coats and accessories at 2 Split Rock Lane. There will be a bin set up on the porch. Children's items are most especially needed. Thank you!

Campaign to clothe a family

Who They Are

Zariah is the second eldest of nine children. She and her siblings have spent most of their lives in and out of the foster care system because of their mother's drug addiction and mental illness for most of their lives. The children's fathers, some are incarcerated, drug users, absent or unknown. When they moved back to New York, the children were placed in the care of their grandmother.  Although not living with her siblings, Zariah remained in close contact with them and visited often.

Zariah is a beautiful person, inside and out, responsible and accountable. She has goals and dreams, hopes and aspirations. She is self-motivated, determined, disciplined, and accomplishes every goal that she sets out to achieve. Most importantly, Zariah is loyal, has great values, and is a phenomenal big sister, who loves her siblings dearly.

Having been accepted to several top-tier colleges, Zariah attended school locally during her first year while launching her new business. Zariah is an entrepreneur, an artist, and a hustler at heart.

In December 2020, Zariah's grandmother passed away from cancer. Zariah's family unraveled, as her grandmother was the glue that kept the children together. Zariah's mother lost custody and visitation of all the children because of her excessive drug use, neglect, and harm that she exposed the children to daily. The children were in jeopardy of being separated and returning to the foster care system. They lost their grandmother, mother, and were fearful of losing each other again.

Zariah courageously filed for custody of her seven siblings ages 18 to 4 and was recently granted custody. This is an enormous responsibility and a huge financial burden. However, I am confident she can and will handle this responsibility. While this responsibility has been a temporary setback for Zariah, I have no doubt that when she and her siblings are settled and a routine established, she will be able to achieve all her goals and aspirations.

Zariah and her seven siblings are temporarily residing in their cousin's home. They are currently homeless because they cannot return to the dangerous conditions they were subjected to.

This fundraiser was created to provide Zariah and her seven siblings with the financial means to acquire a 3-4 bedroom home in a decent neighborhood ASAP, furniture, a car to transport the children, clothes, basic essential needs, toys, and laptops for remote learning.

The money allocated to them through public assistance is an unrealistic amount for a family of eight to live and survive on.

The children have suffered much and their childhood robbed from them. Please help in giving them the stability, happiness, safety, and peace they deserve.

Thank you!

What We are Doing

We will be collecting donations in the form of Target gift cards for this family. Please email us for the drop off address. Alternatively, you can contribute to their Go Fund Me page located here.

Shoveling for Our Neighbor in Need

Hey guys, we have a neighbor that can't shovel herself out and has to go food shopping and run errands before the next storm scheduled for Sunday. My brother and I will be there at 3:30 tomorrow afternoon if anyone has time to lend a hand. It's not a huge driveway or walkway, but the snow may be wet so some extra hands would be great. Please email us using the Learn More button below or directly using info@the364.org - we will give exact address to those that are able to help. The house is in Syosset and an adult (our mom) will be there the entire time. THANK YOU.THANK YOU!

Who They Are

We have learned of an elderly couple that is unable to shop for themselves. They had someone running to the grocery store and/or CVS  once a week, but that person just suddenly stopped coming. The 364 has been asked to step in and help them.

What We are Doing

If you are interested in signing up for a regularly assigned week, please let us know. We will collect their lists and money and then forward them to volunteers. Hopefully we get enough people to join this team so that we can create a schedule.  EMAIL us if you are interested! THANK YOU!
